1,000 wilderness expeditions.

5,000 volunteers.

11,000 kids.

45,000 nights under the stars.

Since its founding in 1989, nonprofit Big City Mountaineers (BCM) has been working to break down barriers to outdoor access for young people from disinvested communities. And the numbers don't lie: they've been succeeding. But their work is far from done.

The mission of Big City Mountaineers perfectly aligns with Outside's own corporate mission: to get everyone outside. That's why we're partnering with BCM on our new Find Your Good fundraising platform, which matches outdoor enthusiasts with like-minded nonprofits. And we need your help.

From September 8 through September 22, 2022, we're looking to raise at least $5,000 in donations for BCM, which will be generously matched by packmaker Mystery Ranch. "Donations will go directly to BCM's programming providing day hikes, overnights, and weeklong backcountry expeditions for kids from disinvested communities who would not otherwise have the opportunity," says David Taus, executive director at BCM.

Please join us in supporting BCM with a tax-deductible donation of any size. Two lucky donors will be chosen at random to receive special gift packages from Mystery Ranch and Outside.
