Hello, Yes, I’m Very Thirsty for Robert Pattinson as Batman

From Cosmopolitan

When I first heard Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson was going to play Batman, I was like, "Great, maybe I'll actually have a single shot at caring about the next Batman movie." Apparently, the rest of the internet wasn't quite as sold on the idea. Like, he was not Twitter's first choice for the role. But the first footage of our boy Robert in his new little superhero costume has arrived, and I'm here to say that dammit... I was right.

Matt Reeves, the film's director, posted this very moody and emo footage of a camera test last night.

And if I was, say, 50 percent excited before, I'm at at least a 73 percent now. I mean, that lighting! That jawline, it could cut glass! The moodiness! The lack of eye contact! THIS SONG! The intrigue is at an all time high, baby, and I am very much going along for the ride. It's 56 seconds long and those 56 seconds cleared every pore on my face and also sorted out my finances. Think about what two full hours of this in movie form could do. I might actually have the motivation to sort through my matches on Hinge.

Look, I get why people might be slightly hesitant about Robert as Batman. To many people on the internet, he's still the kid from Twilight. That's ridiculous and I've already written about that at length here. He's hot now, people! And being hot is one of the biggest factors in being able to pull off the Bruce Wayne character. I know comic book and superhero fans probably won't admit that, but it's the truth.

I don't have much else to add here, except for the fact that dropping this footage the night before Valentine's Day was practically an act of public service. Thank you, Matt Reeves, and thank you, our dearest Robert, for the gift this has been. Can't wait to see the rest of that Batsuit. 👀
