I grew up a Hello Kitty superfan during a time when my merch options were limited. My daughter is following in my footsteps to my great delight, and now that Forever 21 is releasing a new line of Hello Kitty-themed clothes to go with the launch of Netflix's new series from Jenny Han, XO, Kitty, you best believe I am going to be living vicariously through my tween.

The collection has everything from socks to lip balm to letterman's jackets, in a variety of sizes and styles. (Yes, there is more masc/male clothing, too.) Products range from $6.99 for lip balm to $64.99 for coats, with most in the $10- to $25-dollar range favored by the brand.

XO, Kitty is a live-action love story that my tween has been waiting on ever since the preview first aired. It's about a matchmaking teen who reunites with her long-lost boyfriend at boarding school — aka absolute candy for teenagers (and potentially their moms). The show is very pop culture/soapish, with a real “pastel” feel to it, so the collab makes tons of sense.

There are a ton of standouts in this collection, but when I showed my daughter the initial press email for the new Forever 21 x Hello Kitty line, she fell hard for the knee-high socks, skirts, and neckties. I personally am a fan of the jackets, sweatpants, and sweaters. So of course, I'm going to show you both of our favorites below.

XO Kitty Hello Kitty Knee-High Socks

I can’t fault my daughter’s choice here; I, too, once wore pleated skirts with knee-high socks, and I’d have been all over these. Aren’t they darling? Soft, stretchy, and with that print? Amazing.

XO Kitty Hello Kitty Varsity Jacket

This varsity/letterman’s jacket is pure camp. It comes in sizes small to large and is made to be a bit oversized. The patches on the sleeve and the crest on the chest are a great mix of XO, Kitty, and Hello Kitty, with the high school or collegiate feel combining with the cutesy pattern.

Note that this is lined, so it’s a bit on the warmer side.

Plus Size Hello Kitty and Friends Graphic Tee

I'm sorry, where was this top when I was 13? Nowhere to be found. Now? I'm getting this plus-size 0X-2X shirt for everyone, whether they are 13 or 40. It's an absolutely adorable T-shirt that you can wear with a tutu, or if you're in a creative field like I am, under your suit jacket.

Hello Kitty & Friends Keroppi Tee

I already bought this Keroppi long-sleeved tee for my fashion-forward 15-year-old son. I am sure he'll pair it with a pair of bright sweatpants and his favorite electric neon Jordans. Kids have way more fun with their clothes these days.

It comes in XS to 2XL, too, which is pretty killer.

XO Kitty Hello Kitty Neck Tie

OK, I’ll admit it, the tie is pretty cute. It’s very “boarding school chic,” which tracks, because the show takes place in a boarding school. I just keep getting flashbacks to my A Levels. However, these ties with their Hello Kitty pattern would not have been in the dress code.

Hello Kitty & Friends Mini Skirt

Be still, my former gothic nightmare heart. This pleather Hello Kitty skirt with the Hello Kitty buckle is darned amazing. Short but not too short, and with a bit more of a darker theme, this skirt is made for kids who like to be a bit outside the standard.
