We love how creative people are getting with the homemade toys and treats that they're giving to their fur babies. The options for each individual animal are endless, which is great because it means there is something for everyone to enjoy.
One of our personal favorite toys or activities we've ever seen was recently posted by TikTok user @thehamsterstation. This owner decided to make a mini ball pit for their hedgehog. To say we’re obsessed would be the understatement of the year. Check it out!

Aww! We seriously can’t handle all this adorableness. Herbert the Hedgehog didn’t hesitate to hop right into the ball pit. And the creator wasn’t wrong when they said he came out looking like a Christmas tree. LOL! Herbert is single-handedly getting us in the Christmas spirit already!
“The sweetest little Christmas tree,” commented @cinnimoochi. Right?! If we were in charge of the marketing department for companies, we’d make Herbet the new face of Christmas. Sorry, Santa and Elf on the Shelf! LOL! @newprincessajessa added, “Omg I love this so much! Hedgehogs are the coolest pets.” We never thought about having a pet hedgehog before, but you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll be adding them to our pet list of must-haves.
But what kind of hedgehog should you get, that is the question! As it turns out, there are different types of hedgehogs to keep as pets. These species include the African Pygym Hedgehog, which is the most commonly owned, or the Long-eared Hedgehog, Desert Hedgehog, and Indian Long-Eared Hedgehog. It’s important to note that each species requires slightly different care so be sure to do your research if you decide to add one to your family.
