Heather Rae Young Opens Up About Her Special Bond With Tarek’s Daughter

Heather Rae Young is feeling especially lucky these days. As she gears up for her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Tarek El Moussa, she's also taking a second to reflect on her new role as "bonus mama" to Taylor Reese and Brayden James, who El Moussa shares with his ex-wife Christina Haack. Young has opened up about her relationship with El Moussa's children in the past, but as her wedding soon approaches and she officially becomes their step-mother, the bond between her and his children becomes all the more important.

Luckily, it doesn't seem like there's much to worry about, especially when it comes to Heather's relationship with 10-year-old Taylor. Over the weekend, Young posted a video to her Instagram of her and her future step-daughter cozied up in a hug at her engagement party. In the video, Young can be heard playfully exclaiming, "no boys allowed!" In the caption, the soon-to-be bonus mama writes, "The girls of the El Moussa house. ❤️"

Young goes on to reflect on the "special bond" she shares with Taylor. "I remember when I first met the babies, Tay sang a song to me and my heart literally melted," she writes. "I knew we would grow to be close but the bond I have with her is so special and more than I could have ever imagined," says Young.

And the feeling is mutual! In a clip from Tarek’s Flip Side, a miniseries about Tarek's personal life that premiered on discovery+ earlier this year, Taylor says, "When I first met Heather, I felt this bond with her. " Taylor continues, "She’s so nice, she does all this kind stuff. She's the best. I love hanging out with her."

As for Brayden, the 5-year-old spent his dad's engagement party preoccupied with the snack table, according to a video posted to El Moussa's Facebook page. But Young is just as grateful for their relationship. "Lucky to be these babies bonus mama and lucky to be future Mrs. El Moussa," Young writes to finish off her caption.
