Headwaters Kawaii Chroma Art Camp set for June 3-7

This camp for kids ages 7-12 will explore the enchanting Japanese kawaii art style within the captivating realm of color theory.

Camp instructor and artist Shannon Stormy Reyes will lead campers into a world of vibrant imagination and artistic expression through the fundamentals of kawaii design, helping them bring their own cute and expressive characters to life on paper, a release said.

Through hands-on activities, games and projects, campers will experiment with the power of color, learning to convey feelings and moods in their artwork.

During Kawaii Character Design Workshops, campers will learn the intricacies of crafting lovable and charming kawaii characters through step-by-step guidance from experienced artists.

In Color Theory Explorations, participants will unravel the secrets of color theory, discover how different hues and shades can evoke a spectrum of emotions and experiment with various color combinations to create visually stunning and emotionally resonant artwork, the release said.

The camp will conclude with a showcase where campers will display their artwork, celebrating their newfound skills and friendships.

The cost to attend is $140 per participant, including a $40 non-refundable deposit. Space is limited so advance registration is required.
