The Righteous Gemstones is officially returning for a third season.

The news was confirmed by HBO, with HBO Programming executive vice president Amy Gravitt stating, “After a season of literal fire and brimstone, blood, sand, and rollerblading, who wouldn't come back for more?” She added, “The Gemstone family makes us laugh like nobody else.”

The critically acclaimed comedy series premiered its second season earlier this month after two years, and saw the return of John Goodman as Dr. Eli Gemstone, the patriarch, Danny McBride as Jesse, the oldest son, Adam DeVine as Kelvin, the youngest son, Edi Patterson as Judy, the middle child and only daughter, Cassidy Freeman as Amber, Eli’s wife, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon, Jesse’s estranged oldest son, Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Tim Baltz as BJ Barnes and Walton Goggins as Baby Billy Freeman. Jesse Schwartzman, Eric Andre, Jessica Lowe and Eric Roberts also joined the second season as recurring cast members.

The Righteous Gemstones follows an ultra-famous and obscenely rich family of televangelists known for their "deviance, greed and charitable work." Season two focuses on Dr. Eli Gemstone's past returning to haunt him, and the children's growing need to take over the family business.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Greg Daniels clarified that he and Mike Judge do not have a deal for the King of the Hill reboot yet.
