A new crop of characters will be checking into the White Lotus, and now we know who has been cast to play them. Like many shows, the series was delayed by the writers' strike and actors' strike, but with filming set to begin in February 2024, fans are now closer than ever to getting more wild stories from creator Mike White.
Here's everything we know about The White Lotus Season 3 so far, including filming location and cast updates.
Will there still be a Season 3 of The White Lotus?
Yes. Less than a month before the Season 2 finale, HBO announced that the critically acclaimed series from Mike White had been renewed for a third season.
"Reflecting on The White Lotus’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows," Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming and head of HBO Drama Series and Films, said in a press release.
"And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in Season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision."
Where will Season 3 of The White Lotus be set?
In March 2023, Variety reported that Season 3 would be set in Thailand. Series creator Mike White previously told Deadline, "I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent," he said. "You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun."
HBO has confirmed that "the series will begin production in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok in February."

News had previously broken that Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey in Season 1 of The White Lotus, would reprise her role in Season 3. Creator Mike White has teased that the next installment will offer “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality." Perhaps Belinda managed to open her own spa after all?

What will Season 3 of The White Lotus be about?
Mike White explained in the “Unpacking S2 E7” featurette that the first season "kind of highlighted money" and Season 2's theme was mainly about sex. He hinted that Season 3 could focus on "a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality."
The series creator added, "It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
In a November 2023 interview with EW, White further promised a "supersized" season of White Lotus.
"It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing," he said.

When will Season 3 of The White Lotus premiere?
No premiere date has been announced just yet, but it's looking like 2025, per a statement from HBO and Max Content chairman and CEO Casey Bloys.
Production will begin in February.

How many episodes is The White Lotus Season 3?
There is no episode count just yet, but the first season had six episodes and the second season had seven. It's possible Season 3 will include a similar number of episodes, but keep in mind that Mike White told EW that this season would be "longer."
