HBO Announces Julia Louis-Dreyfus's Return to ‘Veep’ Following Breast Cancer Battle

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is preparing to step back into Veep’s Oval Office following her recent battle with breast cancer.

HBO announced today that the 57-year-old actress will return to film the show’s seventh—and final—season in August.

Back in September, Louis-Dreyfus took to Twitter to announce she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although she completed her final round of chemotherapy earlier this month, HBO put production on hold while the actress underwent treatment. Luckily, her costars couldn’t be more supportive.

According to Matt Walsh, who plays Mike McLintock in the hit series, “Veep is on hiatus, we’ll start filming in August and it will air in 2019. We’ve known for about a month. We’ve seen [Julia], she’s done some table reads, she’s doing well, she’s finished her last chemo, she’s in recuperation. Her perspectives have remained excellent throughout. She’s very well loved; she’s a tremendous person.”

Oh how we’ve missed you, Selina Meyer.
