Four Seasons Resort Lanai
A ferry ride or quick flight away from the international airports on Maui or Honolulu, the posh, 90,000-acre beachfront Lanai—with its largest suite nearing 4,000 square feet—partners with its adults-only sister property, Sensei (a 20-minute shuttle ride away in the mountains) for an impressive slate of activities for all ages.
The "Kids for All Seasons" club offers organized indoor and outdoor activities for children age five to 12—think yoga, collecting flowers for lei making, and after-hours theme nights. The tricked-out facility features gaming systems, craft supplies, and even a resident parrot who says "aloha."
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
Also known as the dreamy filming location for the first season of White Lotus, Four Seasons Maui is a 383-room oceanfront property with three pools, access to food all day on the club floor, and several thoughtful details for families.
Complimentary strollers, baby monitors, infant playpens at the pool, and more are on offer—plus, beach toys and personalized amenities for kids (like stuffed animals and their name spelled in sponge letters on arrival). Contact the concierge for customized family itineraries, from picnics around the island to an outrigger canoe paddle excursion. And as part of a nightly ritual, kids can join a torchbearer as they race around the resort to light over 50 torches.
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa
There are cheesy character experiences, and then there's Aulani, which brings the Disney magic with a level of sophistication that equally appeals to parents. Set on the Ko Olina beachfront, Aulani offers Disney Vacation Club Villas for comfort and an array of family experiences—from boogie boarding and stargazing to cherished character meet and greets. Then there's the spa, golf course, Keiki Cove Splash Zone, and a lazy river.
Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort
Recently reopened with a focus on authenticity, sustainability, and luxury, this is the only all-hale resort on the island (hale means house), with 150 guest hale situated in village-like crescents. Water activities for all ages include paddleboarding, outrigger canoeing, and the unique Sea Scooter snorkeling experience—and there's also a kids club on site.
1 Hanalei Bay
Situated on a legendary beach where Native Hawaiians lived for generations, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay opened in 2023 as the hotel chain's flagship property focused on nature and wellness. With connecting rooms, suites, and penthouses on offer, there's room for families of all sizes.
The 10,000 square-foot Anatomy fitness center includes a beachfront jungle gym, and the "Seedlings Kids Club" has offerings for little ones of all ages—including an Aloha Camp for the six-to-12-year-old set and customizable teen experiences.
Ritz-Carlton Kapalua
Surrounded by natural preserves and two protected marine sanctuaries, this property beckons travelers of all ages to relax on golden beaches and at picturesque pools—or go for something more adventuresome, like snorkeling with sea turtles or flying through the West Maui Mountains on a dual zipline. There are also two championship golf courses, a full-service spa, and recently redesigned guest rooms and suites—with some featuring kitchens and up to two bedrooms.
Andaz Maui at Wailea
Located on Maui's southwestern coastline, along Mōkapu Beach, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is a 15-acre beachfront property with 321 guest rooms, including 35 suites and 31 residential-style villas just right for families. There are three outdoor infinity pools and a 14,000-square-foot spa and salon (with its own adults-only pool).
For families of all ages, the resort offers an array of cultural experiences, including outrigger canoeing, ukulele and lei making, and a history-infused Hawaiian feast.
Four Seasons Resort Hualālai
The first and only AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort on Hawaii's Big Island, Four Seasons Resort Hualālai offers luxury and fun for everyone. Family-friendly suites and villas are available for groups, including the largest standalone villa offered in Hawaii for special occasions.
The resort's robust activity slate includes interactive ocean preservation and marine educational programming at the Kumu Kai Marine Center & King's Pond—a 1.8-million gallon swimmable aquarium. Plus, there are water sports, as well as Camp Manitou at Hualālai: a seasonal adventure camp for kids ages 9 through 17.
Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina
Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina, located right next to Disney's Aulani property, is a haven for families, with 316 guest rooms, 55 suites, two family pools, and an adults-only quiet beach and pool area. There's a "Kids for All Seasons" club for ages five through 12, as well as a young adult center for ages 12 and up. There are also kids menus in all the restaurants, kid-friendly amenities in the rooms, and babysitting services upon request.
Wailea Beach Resort
Situated between two crescent beaches, Wailea Beach Resort sprawls across 22 acres with suites over 2,000 square feet and three pool experiences, including the longest waterslide on Maui. The resort's enormous Nalu pool offers four waterslides, splash zones, a swim-through grotto, and large family cabanas. Chef Roy Yamaguchi helms a poolside food truck serving Hawaiian classics, like poke bowls and fish tacos.
The kids club welcomes children five to 12, and the game area features foosball, billiards, shuffleboard, and vintage arcade games just right for older kids. The resort also has a roster of cultural and adventurous activities, including outrigger canoeing, taro pounding, bowling, bamboo stomping, and ukulele lessons.
Turtle Bay Resort
This recently renovated resort along Oahu's North Shore—a region recognized around the world for surfing—spans miles of coastline with seven private beaches and 1,300 acres in all. All 400 guest rooms have an ocean view, and there are 46 private bungalows perfect for families.
The resort offers dozens of on-property experiences for the whole group, including beachfront horseback riding, electric bikes, sea turtle kayak tours, surf lessons, lei making, hula dance lessons, lawn games, and more. Three resort pools include a dedicated kids pool with two water slides. Plus, at the Nalu spa, there are hair and nail treatments offered especially for mini-mes.
Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort
Located on the famous Waikiki Beach, this historic Honolulu hotel dates back to 1927 and is known for its signature pink façade (which has served as the backdrop for many movies and TV shows, including Mad Men). For larger accommodation options, the Royal Hawaiian Suite sleeps four and the Queen Ka'ahumanu Suite sleeps six.
Known as the "Pink Palace of the Pacific," the Royal Hawaiian offers hula lessons and weekly floral lei-making classes. There's also a storytelling experience, in which kids can learn about the Hawaiian people, history, legends, nature, and animals, using pictures and props.
Montage Kapalua Bay
Montage Kapalua Bay in Maui offers oceanfront accommodations ideal for multigenerational families. Roomy one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom residential-style suite accommodations offer large living rooms and private lanais (verandas) and tricked-out kitchens.

Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection
Situated along the Kohala Coast, this Auberge property was completely redesigned in 2020. It offers modern accommodations, oceanfront dining at CanoeHouse, three pools, a signature spa with a Goop store, sports and living culture programs, plus a kids club. With 333 accommodations in all, even the entry-level guest rooms have as much as 640 square feet, offering families room to spread out.
About Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
This Maui resort is situated among 40 acres of lush, tropical gardens on Wailea Beach, accessible to the nearby lively network of shops and restaurants. The property offers rope swings and a jungle-style river pool for family fun—plus Kilolani Spa, the new 50,000-square-foot spa scheduled to open in 2024. Timbers Kauai at Hokuala
This family-friendly resort community spans 450 acres on Kauai, with a kids club and an array of authentic cultural programming, like ukulele lessons, Hawaiian language lessons, scavenger hunts, and lei-making workshops. One of the most popular programs for kids is at the Farm at Hokuala: It teaches them about the history and significance of traditional crops brought from Polynesian settlers. They get to taste fruits and plants, like the farm's "ice cream bean," and pet the resident bunnies.
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
Developed by Laurance S. Rockefeller, this was the first hotel on the Big Island when it debuted in 1965. The historic property offers endless opportunities for multigenerational families to bond and relax: tennis and pickleball on the ocean's edge, the Mauna Kea Golf Course, the Mauna Kea Spa by Mandara, lawn games, a full kids club with daily programming, and a beach club with access to manta ray snorkeling, canoe experiences, and complimentary biodegradable sand toys.

Rich in cultural history, King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort sits on 13 beachfront acres adjacent to the Kailua Pier—the land where King Kamehameha the Great lived and governed after uniting the Hawaiian Islands under his rule. Set on Kamakahonu Bay, this is Kona's only hotel with a large sandy beach right in front for kids to play in the sand or snorkel in the shallow waters. Rooms and suites have private lanais, and the resort features an infinity pool and yoga studio.
As far as activities go, there's stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and more—plus, submarine tours with Atlantis Adventures that dive 100 feet below the surface.
