I Hated White Jeans Until I Found This Incredibly Flattering Pair From an Oprah-Worn Brand

I’m easily bored by my clothes. So much so, I’ve relied on Rent the Runway—a subscription service that allows me to play with new styles every week—for the past five years. Imagine my surprise, then, when I found myself wearing a particular pair of white jeans two days in a row, washing them, and slipping right back into them the second they were dry enough to don.
Surprise! I’m wearing them, yet again, as I write these words. In short, I’ve fallen madly in love with the Mia Palazzo Jeans from NYDJ, a brand Oprah has praised in the past for how “perfectly” its denim fits. The NYDJ Mia Palazzo Jean is an ultra-comfortable, moderately stretchy pair of denim pants. Designed with utmost flattery and unparalleled comfort in mind, the style features a high-rise waist that falls just below the navel, and a moderately stretchy fabric that’s just short of sweatpant-level softness. The material, 88 percent cotton, 10 percent polyester, and 2 percent elastane, is to thank for the perfect amount of stretch and unbelievable comfort.
The legs feature a relaxed fit through the thighs that’s just tight enough: No bagginess, or, on the flip side, constructiveness. The wide-leg bottom, which is very much in style right now, pairs just as well with sneakers as it does with my favorite 5-inch platforms.
Though these jeans are considerably more comfortable than most, they’re far from a jegging, or some other trompe-l'œil denim hack, to be clear. Rather, they’re nothing short of traditional denim pants in appearance. You’ll find everything you love about traditional jean styles: A button and zipper closure in the front, and four pockets—two below the hips, and two on the rear—plus a belt loop.
Currently, I’m wearing the jeans paired with a chambray blouse, French-tucked, and finished with a statement necklace for a perfectly understated-yet-stylish WFH outfit. I’ve also donned the jeans with a diminutive black halter top and chunky sandals for nights out, a boxy white cropped T-shirt for lounging on Sunday mornings, and plan to experiment with blazers next, which I envision becoming my new go-to comfort-forward office uniform.
I’d be remiss not to mention that bright white jeans have rarely been part of my wardrobe in the past; somehow, I’d never found a pair that’s fully flattered. The Mia Palazzo Pants, however, are a rare exception in the white pants domain, and make me feel, truthfully, fantastic.
