I Hated Body Lotion Until I Tried One from Clean-Beauty Brand Nécessaire

While most people find applying body lotion to be a supremely relaxing (and possibly necessary) part of their self-care routine, it's the part I loathe most. So much so that I usually skip it. Why? Lotion is slimy and sticky and overly-fragranced and I just don't like how it feels all over my body.

Then I tried Nécessaire's The Body Lotion and it completely changed my mind.

Formulated with marula, cacay and meadfoam oils, it's ultra-moisturizing and sinks into my skin immediately (read: there's none of that my-skin-is-sticking-to-everything feeling). It's also unscented, which makes it an awesome option for those with sensitive skin. My skin fortunately isn't sensitive, but I prefer unscented products so I can smell like my perfume.

Though I'm not obsessive about having a clean beauty routine, I appreciate Nécessaire's devotion to obsessively researching their ingredients and only using clean, effective and high-quality materials (their words, not mine). That means no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, silicones, petro-chemicals, synthetic fragrances or synthetic dyes.

I'm also a sucker for its chic, minimalist, black and white packaging, which looks gorgeous on my nightstand. (I'm all about the aesthetic—sue me.)

Three-word translation? You'll love it. And right now, it's included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which runs through August 30 with varying access dates depending on your Insider status. (Don't have a Nordstrom card? Everyone gets access to the sale on August 19.) The retailer is offering an exclusive duo of Nécessaire's The Body Lotion and The Body Wash for $35 (a $50 value). And yes, The Body Wash is just as luxurious as my favorite body cream thanks to its natural eucalyptus scent. And it doesn't hurt that it makes my shower look a little more chic.
