If you’re like most Harry Styles fans who stayed up to wait for his newest album Harry’s House to drop today, you’ll know two things — 1. The album is a masterpiece that feels like a warm hug, and 2. One of the songs is called “Daylight”…which just so happens to also be the name of one of Taylor Swift’s 2019 tracks from her album “Lover."

Need a refresher on the history between the two pop behemoths? Harry Styles and Taylor Swift (sorry, we meant Dr. Taylor Swift!) dated back in 2012-2013, and even though it’s been almost a decade since their romantic fling, fans had some ~thoughts~ when it came to the two singers both having songs with the exact same name.

After all, Harry and Taylor have written plenty of songs about each other. One Direction’s “Perfect” has a lyric that goes, “And if you like cameras flashin' every time we go out / And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about” while Taylor has a song called “Style" (subtle!) where she sings, “You got that long hair, slicked back, white T-shirt."

Harry appeared on The Howard Stern Show to talk all things Harry’s House as well as giving a sneak peek of some songs that are now available to stream everywhere. Howard Stern asked Harry about the fan theories linking his song “Daylight” to Taylor Swift’s “Daylight” and the singer addressed these theories saying, “you’re reading too much into it. You know I’d love to tell you that you’re spot on, but I can’t.” Sigh.

Harry explained that “Daylight” was about infatuation, sharing that it was “quite an early song on the album. It was it's one of my favorites and it was kind of a stream of consciousness writing that happened kind of late. This very much felt like, 'OK, we have to find a way to finish this. Now.’”

While we don’t know exactly who the song is about, there’s a good chance that “Daylight” is about Harry’s *actual* girlfriend, Olivia Wilde. We have a full timeline of Harry and Olivia’s relationship if you’re looking for a refresher. There are also engagement rumors swirling around the Don’t Worry Darling couple although nothing has been officially confirmed.
