Harry Styles did double duty on Saturday Night Live this past weekend and the world will never be the same. In other words, Harry was both the show's host and music talent and, in my very unbiased opinion, he totally killed it. In one of his skits, though, Harry played a clueless intern who learned the cultural importance of the Popeyes chicken sandwich...and it was hilarious.

In a segment called "Lunch Run," he was a British intern named Robert who was tasked with getting the employees food for the day. Someone suggested Thai food and another suggested pizza, but then his character threw out the unthinkable: buying out a Popeyes of all its chicken sandwiches.

"I thought I could go there by myself and get like 15 chicken sandwiches," he says. This caused a visceral reaction from his black coworkers, who were played by Kenan Thomspon and Ego Nwodim in the skit.

For context, the popularity of the Popeyes sandwiches has recently sparked conversations about the significance of this chain restaurant to the black community. "Popeyes has struck a special chord for African-Americans and anybody who grew up eating black soul food," one New York Times piece explained: "Specifically, that its celebrated sandwich tastes like something that could have come from a black home kitchen."

Harry's character assured the room that it would be no problem for him to walk to a Popeyes during lunch rush and buy out all of the sandwiches. "I heard there's a line out the door everyday, I'm sure they'll let me cut, I'll just say 'Give me every chicken sandwich you have, I'm in a hurry,'" he said.

While you gotta admire the gusto of an eager intern, we all know going to Popeyes to buy all the chicken sandwiches that just returned after three months ain't it. This is where Kenan Thompson feels the need to reality check him. "There's not many things in this country where our people get first dibs, but the Popeyes chicken sandwich, that's one of them," he said while Ego nodded in agreement. "So you gotta take a step back," she elaborated. "Imagine if I went to a Whole Foods and bought up all those White Claw Seltzers you all like."

Honestly, the comparison is pretty spot-on. There was even a White Claw shortage over the summer because they were in such high demand. Imagine buying all the White Claw cases you could find in stores right when they made their return. That would be pretty messed up.

If you learn one thing today, let it be that you should definitely not go to a Popeyes and buy every chicken sandwich they have. And don't do that with White Claw either. Get it? Got it? Good.
