Harry Styles Canceled His Copenhagen Concert After A Nearby Shooting

Harry Styles' latest tour stop in Copenhagen, Denmark was canceled after a mass shooting took place less than a mile from the venue he was scheduled to perform at. According to a report by the Associated Press, the gunman targeted a shopping mall called Field's on Sunday, July 3. Authorities told NBC News that the tragedy killed three people and critically wounded four others.

Copenhagen police inspector Søren Thomassen revealed that a 22-year-old Danish man was arrested after the shooting, but that police were still investigating at the time of the Associated Press' report. Harry's show at Copenhagen's Royal Hall was scheduled later that same evening, but the Music for a Sushi Restaurant singer took to social media to alert his fans of the cancelation due to the tragedy that ensued near the venue.

"I'm devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting," Harry wrote in a Tweet posted on July 3. "I'm sorry we couldn’t be together. Please look after each other."

Per E! News, Live Nation noted that Harry's show was canceled at the direction of Danish police. There is no word yet on whether his Copenhagen performance will be rescheduled for a later date, but his Love On Tour will resume in Paris, France on July 5.

For his upcoming Love On Tour leg in the United States, the One Direction alum teamed up with Everytown for Gun Safety to bring awareness to gun violence. He, along with entertainment corporation Live Nation, has donated over $1 million to the gun safety organization. "Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at the latest in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas," he wrote in an Instagram statement on May 27. "On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items. Love, H."
