Harry Styles' Ex-Girlfriend Camille Rowe Appears on New Album "Fine Line"

Fine Line is out now.

Harry Styles’s former girlfriend might just be on his new album Fine Line. The record dropped today, and fans are already buzzing about his 12 latest songs. One track that’s at the forefront of fan discourse is Harry’s folky tune “Cherry," which is gaining traction because a vocal sample of a French voice — which presumably belongs to a special person from Harry's past.

The clip comes in at the last 30 seconds of the song, featuring a high-pitched French voice. In the message, the person laughs and says, according to Genius lyrics, “Coucou! Tu dors ? Oh, j'suis désolée... Bah non... Nan, c'est pas marrant... Ouais... On a été à la plage, on a— Parfait!” According to Just Jared Jr., the audio translates to, “Hello! Are you asleep? ... Oh, I’m sorry... Well, no… No, it’s not important... Well… We went to the beach and we… Perfect."

The voice is believed to belong to Harry Styles's former girlfriend Camille Rowe, a French-American model who was seen with Harry between 2017 and 2018. They allegedly stopped hanging out after his world tour ended.

The two were first linked together when Nick Grimshaw asked Harry in a 2017 interview about her. Before the Victoria’s Secret model’s name was dropped, Harry’s heart rate sped up during a game at the mention of Ryan Gosling. As for “Cherry,” Harry spoke about the song’s conception in an interview with Zane Lowe last month. ‘When we listened back to the album, I asked her to add it in,” he said, seemingly referencing Camille. “I wanted ["Cherry"] to reflect how I felt then. I was feeling not great. It’s all about being not great. Because, you get petty when things don’t go the way you want it. There’s parts that’s so pathetic.”

The youngest One Direction member said that “Cherry” formed after he discussed the kind of albums he wants to make in the future. Harry’s sound engineer Tyler said, “You just have to make the record that you wanna make right now, that’s it.” Harry replied in the interview, “So then we stayed up and wrote ‘Cherry’ that night.”
