Harry Potter World Has Nothing on This Amazing Hogwarts-Themed Classroom

We've all gone through the cycle of hope and disappointment as another September comes and goes without an owl delivering your Hogwarts letter a la Harry Potter. But one middle school teacher in Oregon went out of his way to soften the blow of getting a class schedule that included algebra instead of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Kyle Hubler, who teaches seventh and eighth graders at Evergreen Middle School, located in Hillsboro, Oregon, put in 70 hours this summer transforming his new classroom into a space worthy of any aspiring witches and wizards.

“As a kid I remember my biggest dream was to go to Hogwarts someday, but I knew that I could never truly go there and that was a disappointment to feel like I had to give up on that dream,” he told The Huffington Post. "When I became a teacher and started talking to my students about their dreams I realized that I had the power to make my childhood wish come true. It wasn’t necessarily in the way I imagined as a kid, but it still feels like I made my 12-year-old self proud and fulfilled that kid's dream.”

Kyle shared photos of his magical classroom on Facebook, and it's clear he didn't leave any corner of the wizarding world unexplored. Students enter the room through "Platform 9 3/4." House banners hang from the ceiling (as well as some floating candles in an homage to the Great Hall). And of course, a wide variety of Harry Potter-themed accessories are on display, including a large collection of wands, a set of Wizard Chess, and even a sorting hat.

The tricked-out room has gotten rave reviews from Kyle's students. "I heard audible gasps and saw jaws drop to the floor,” he explained. “They were scrambling around the room to inspect every little detail and were excitedly showing their peers what they discovered.”

Even if you're not a die-hard Harry Potter fan, it seems like filling out a worksheet would just be more fun in a classroom with such a strong Hogwarts vibe. Here's hoping Kyle brings the magic into his everyday lessons — remembering the full periodic table of elements should definitely win you 10 points for Gryffindor.
