Harry Potter’s Parents’ House Is For Sale

The magical home could be yours.

Harry Potter’s childhood home—not the Dursley’s house on Privet Drive, but the Godric’s Hollow abode owned by Lily and James Potter—is on the market, and one lucky muggle family will get to call it home.

The De Vere House, named for one of its prior owners, is located in Laenham, a village in Suffolk, England. It is currently listed for £995,000, or approximately $1,292,714. We’re still waiting on confirmation of how much it will cost in Galleons.

Fans of the series will recognize the house from Harry’s flashbacks and, most notably, his return to his childhood town of Godric’s Hollow with Hermione in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was also the house in which Lord Voldemort attacked Lily and James. (No word on whether their ghosts still haunt the estate.)

But even in real life, the house boasts some truly exquisite architecture. The timber-framed home features gorgeous exposed-brick herringbone and a rare spiral staircase made of stone. Out back, the new owners will find .4 acres of lush yard space with an alfresco dining terrace. Brick paths, arched walkways, and an old stable all add to its charm. One of its most notable features is the unique wooden front door, which is one of the most photographed doorways in the UK, second only to the Prime Minister’s home at 10 Downing Street.
