Harrison Ford and his wife Calista Flockhart have been together for more than a decade (13 years, to be exact). And although their ’ship was the subject of tons of headlines when they first got together, in recent years, these two have gotten more and more low-key, as one does after they’ve cemented their A-lister status in Tinseltown. If you’re curious about the famous couple and you wanna know more about the woman who has been in Harrison’s life for so many years, here’s more insight into Harrison and Calista’s relationship.

They met in the most Hollywood way ever

Harrison and Calista first crossed paths at the 2002 Golden Globes, where she earned a nomination for playing the titular role in the show Ally McBeal, which she starred in from 1997 to 2002. Harrison, too, had a big night at the ceremony, as he just so happened to be the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award. TL;DR: These two had major star power from the jump!

P.S. At the time, the Indiana Jones star was actually in the middle of divorcing his second wife, Melissa Mathison, but that split was eventually finalized in 2004.

Harrison and Calista have a 22-year age gap

Yep, when these two met, Harrison was 60 and Calista was 38. At the time, the Blade Runner actor was also a dad to four children: Ben and Willard (with his first wife Mary Marquardt) and Malcolm and Georgia (whom he shared with Melissa). Meanwhile, in January 2001, Calista adopted a son named Liam, and Harrison ended up developing a tight-knit relationship with him over the years.

"I wasn't expecting it at all. The unexpected part was certainly true and the joy part is also true. I think Liam was about 6 or 8 months old when I met him and Calista. We have been together ever since," the actor told Parade in January 2010. During the interview, Harrison also opened up about spending time with his wife and her son, adding, "On the weekends, I do whatever Calista and Liam want to do. We'll take a couple of hours on Sunday morning to go motorcycle riding or go for a hike."

They got engaged on Valentine's Day

After seven years of dating, Harrison and Calista got engaged on one of the most romantic days of the year. They made things official in June 2010, when the actors got married in an intimate ceremony in Santa Fe, New Mexico—where Harrison was in the midst of filming Cowboys and Aliens—with Liam in attendance, of course. Their wedding was officiated by Governor Bill Richardson under the supervision of New Mexico's Chief Justice Charles W. Daniels. Iconic.

Around this time, Harrison adopted Liam as his own son. The actor later spoke about how Liam had always been a part of his relationship with Calista in a tender interview with Reader's Digest (via People), saying, "It's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff. Being a parent made me just a bit less self-centered." He added, "Calista’s a mother by choice—she adopted Liam before we met, as a single parent, which is an awesome responsibility to take. She’s devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I’m happy to now have a part of the job."

Calista is very supportive of Harrison

Especially when it comes to his hobbies! It's a well-known fact that Harrison has been a fan of planes for years, even obtaining his own pilot license at the age of 53. And luckily for him, Calista also enjoys flying—so much so that it's become one of the activities they bond over the most.

"Calista loves to fly, and I'm thrilled because it's so important to me and it's the kind of thing that's so much more fun with somebody who really enjoys it," Harrison dished to People in 2003. "Liam loves to fly. Calista likes the process, she likes what she sees from the air, she likes seeing me happy. I think a lot of it has to do with that she loves to see me doing something that I love."

During the convo, Calista added, "I had always been a little nervous about flying, but when we went for the first time—I think to Santa Barbara—I wasn't nervous at all. I loved it."

"I also think I love it because I really trust Harrison," she continued before adding that they "take Liam flying all the time and he loves it."

Sadly, Harrison got into a plane crash while flying over an L.A. golf course in 2015, but his wife was quick to rush to his side while he recovered. Calista later opened up about how much the incident affected her and her family: "I think it just makes you realize once again that life can turn on a dime, and we just have to appreciate every second we’re here, because you never know."

They're red carpet pros

Last year, the happy couple even let us in on a tender, behind-the-scenes moment ahead of the world premiere of Harrison's new movie Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. In the sweet snap, which was shared by stylist Elizabeth Stewart, the longtime couple can be seen getting ready for the big moment in their hotel room. They're each other's biggest supporters

Case in point? While walking the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans red carpet on January 23, 2024, Calista gushed to People that Harrison supports her in "so many ways." "He supports me a lot. It’s a mutual thing," she added.

The red carpet appearance came on the heels of the Indiana Jones actor showing a similar sentiment of gratitude after he thanked his wife for her "support" in an emotional speech at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards just a week prior.
