Hardee’s Put This Southern Staple on the Menu, Permanently

Leave it to Nashville to spice up the chain's menu.

Nashville, Tennessee brings us a lot of wonderful things. The Grand Ole Opry, nonstop music, a start for country singers such as Dolly Parton, Thomas Rhett, and Faith Hill, and about 40 breweries to name just a few.

Of course, there’s also the Southern food. The Music City, as it’s often referred to, is known for biscuits, barbecue, banana pudding, and what may be its most iconic food, Nashville Hot Chicken. The super crispy fried chicken with a sauce that brings plenty of heat has made its way out of Nashville, and its popularity has exploded recently. Many national restaurants have put their own spin on it. Pizza Hut even added Nashville Hot Chicken pieces on a pickle pizza.

If all this talk of the spicy breaded chicken has your mouth watering, you’re in luck if you have a Hardee’s nearby. The chain just added Nashville Hot Chicken to its menu in three different iterations, and it's not doing any of this limited-time-only nonsense. The chicken is a permanent addition to its menu known for its burgers, biscuits and gravy, breakfast items, and hand-scooped ice cream shakes.

Three spicy, breaded-chicken menu items showed up on participating Hardee’s menus on Sept. 13. The Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich is served on a toasted bun with an all-white-meat chicken fillet that’s hand-dipped in buttermilk, lightly breaded, fried, and topped with Nashville Hot Seasoning and pickles.

The Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders get the same treatment as the chicken in the chicken sandwich does, just in chicken tender form. The Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Biscuit is like the sandwich but on Hardee’s famous biscuit instead of a bun.

A Limited-Time BOGO Offer

The new Nashville Hot Chicken items are permanent menu additions, but Hardee’s has a limited-time offer of buy one get one for $2. On the Hardee’s app only, the fast-food chain’s My Rewards members can redeem the BOGO-for-$2 offer on hand-breaded chicken sandwiches ( regular, BLT, or Nashville Hot).

Fast-food and fast-casual restaurants are increasingly offering exclusive deals on their apps or websites, making it attractive for customers to order ahead.
