Fifty-one years ago today, Elvis, sporting a silk tuxedo and cowboy boots, and Priscilla Presley(née Beaulieu), clad in a white chiffon gown embroidered with twinkling seed pearls, not to mention a three-foot tulle veil and rhinestone tiara, married in a private suite at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. There were about 14 people there. “It was the people closest to us, and private, and that’s how we wanted it. We didn’t want a fan club. We didn’t want a circus,” Priscilla has said.
