Hannah Gadsby Was the Funniest Part of the Emmys

Hannah Gadsby, the bonafide genius behind the hit standup special/monologue/harrowing Netflix content Nanette (hey, it depends on your mood), took to the Emmys stage on Monday night to present the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, and it was hands down the funniest part of the event.

"For somebody like me, a nobody, from nowhere, to get this gig... just because I don't like men," she said. She was joking though, so you can relax. "But nobody knows what jokes are these days, especially men. That's why I'm presenting alone," Gadsby continued to the increasing deserved anxiety of her audience. "Not all men," Gadsby said, "But a lot of them."

Anyway Stephen Daldry won the category for his work on The Crown. "Well done him," Gadsby said, already walking off stage.
