*Warning: Spoilers ahead*
Last week on The Bachelorette, Hannah Brown finally sent home Luke Parker (for good) before sitting down with Chris Harrison in an all-new The Men Tell All special. And now, the 24-year-old beauty queen narrows down her selection from three suitors to the final two.
Here’s what went down in part one of the season 15 finale.
Who's in the final 2?
The episode opens on Harrison welcoming viewers to the “dramatic” two-part finale of Brown’s journey to find love. Now that Luke P. has officially left the building (hallelujah!), we resume with the final three rose ceremony in Crete, Greece.
After diving into a cheesy vulnerable speech about “how blessed” she is, Brown hands out roses to Jed and Tyler, ultimately sending home Peter the Pilot.
When she walks him out, Brown assures Peter that he’s a “dream guy.” However, she knows that he’s not right for her. Peter tells her that she’ll always have a piece of his heart before getting in the SUV and heading to the airport.
Back in the studio, Peter sits down with Harrison and reveals that it’s been a struggle since the breakup, admitting that his family played a huge role in getting him back on his feet.
Although it took him a while to open up to Brown on the show, there’s no denying that he fell for her “very early on.” While he failed to say “I love you” during his hometown date, Peter thinks he did everything he could to express his feelings after that moment.
Right on cue, Brown joins him onstage, and Peter doesn’t waste any time asking for answers. When he demands to know when Brown knew that “it wasn’t us,” she says there was nothing wrong with their relationship. Although she can’t give him a “concrete answer,” she had to follow her heart—and that decision didn’t include him.
After confirming their relationship was “very passionate,” Brown wishes Peter the best and assures him that he’ll make someone extremely happy someday.
Just then, Harrison says what we’re all thinking: “On a lighter note, because of you two, no one will ever look at a windmill the same.”
This prompts Brown to clarify that she lied when she said that she and Peter “f***ed twice” during their Fantasy Suite date. In fact, they did it four times. *Mic drop*
Does Tyler have a shot at winning?
Back in Greece, it’s officially time to introduce the remaining contestants to Brown’s family. Tyler is first on the chopping block, and he handles the situation like a total pro, talking about his former dance career before sitting down with Brown’s mom.
While discussing his Bachelorette experience, Tyler admits that he’s building a strong connection with Brown. When her mom asks how he’d react to a disagreement, Tyler brings up his divorced parents and reveals that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.
In a conversation with Brown’s dad, Tyler opens up about their Fantasy Suite date and admits that he has nothing but respect for Brown, which is why he had no issue with her setting boundaries. Both of her parents are totally smitten (natch).
Later on, Brown pulls Tyler aside and reveals that she hasn’t been completely honest with him. She admits that she’s struggling to understand her feelings for him—does she really love him? Or is it just lust?
However, after much consideration, she’s come to the conclusion that she’s falling in love with him.
What about Jed?
The next day, Brown warns her family about what’s to come, since it’s finally hitting her that she has “two really good guys.” When Jed arrives, her parents admit that Tyler “set the bar really high” during yesterday’s meeting.
That doesn’t stop Jed from gushing over Brown during their get-together, starting with their limo meet-cute and ending with his several serenades over the course of the season. When he brings up his music career, her parents seem concerned because 1) it’s not a stable job, and 2) music will always be his number one priority.
In a conversation with Brown’s dad, Jed wastes no time talking about his “dream.” When he asks if Jed will be able to provide for Brown, Jed assures him that income won’t be an issue.
In an interview with producers, Jed admits that he’s getting weird vibes from Brown’s parents, saying, “I feel a little confused.”
When he leaves, Brown’s mom immediately expresses her concerns about Jed. Her dad agrees, claiming that Jed “beat around the bush” during their conversation.
In Greece, Brown is ready to embark on her final date with Tyler, where they go horseback riding through the mountains.
To no surprise, Tyler isn’t shy about his fear of horses, saying, “I’m not going to lie, I’m freaking out a bit.”
When they sit down for a picnic, Tyler reveals that he thoroughly enjoyed meeting her parents, and Brown confirms that he made a good first impression. In fact, she can “totally” see a future with him.
Later on, Brown heads to Tyler’s hotel room, where they sip Champagne, reminisce about their journey and gush over how much they love each other. Barf.
While discussing life after the show, Tyler says that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make their relationship—and eventual marriage—work.
“You make me the happiest I’ve ever been, and I don’t see that ever changing,” he says.
The next day, Brown meets up with Jed for the last date of the season. (For real.) This time, she takes him on a boat tour around the area, where they recreate the Titanic scene while trying (and failing) to not fall over.
Right on cue, Brown gets seasick and spends the majority of the boat ride hanging over the side. When they stop for a bite to eat, Brown addresses the elephant in the room: her parents.
Jed admits that he feels disadvantaged, since her parents focused solely on his music career and not him as a person. Although it doesn’t change the way he feels about her, he’s disappointed that it didn’t go as planned.
Just then, Brown excuses herself to vomit. (Timing, amirite?)
That night, Jed joins her for dinner. Brown admits that her parents are “skeptical” about his music career, which makes her hesitant about their future together. Although he promises he’d make it work, Brown doesn’t seem so sure.
The episode concludes with Brown revealing that even she doesn’t know how tomorrow’s finale will end. Dun dun dun.
So, who will Brown choose? And what happened after the show stopped filming? The two-part finale of The Bachelorette concludes tomorrow, July 30, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
