Chris Harrison promised that Season 15 of The Bachelorette would be historic, and he was right. Hannah Brown’s Bachelorette winner has been revealed—with much unprecedented (and unexpected) aftermath following the proposal.

The former Miss Alabama USA’s tumultuous season ceremoniously came to a traditional end with Jed Wyatt receiving the Bachelorette’s final rose in Greece. And while the couple left happily engaged, that relationship status didn’t last for long. “I’ve been praying for you for a very long time,” she remarked in the finale as Wyatt added, “I have lived 25 years without you… and I don’t want to live another day without you in my life.” He then dropped to one knee and proposed.

THE BACHELORETTE – “The Bachelorette: Season Finale Part 2” – America watched live on Monday night as a heartbroken Hannah said goodbye to one more man. Now, she must put everything on the line with her final two bachelors to see if she will be with her soul mate at the end of her journey on night two of the two-night, live special season finale event on “The Bachelorette,” TUESDAY, JULY 30 (8:00-10:01p.m. EDT), on ABC. During the live After the Final Rose special, it was revealed that Hannah and Jed have since broken up, leaving the Bachelorette single once again. The split was accompanied by some controversy: Jed’s ex-girlfriend alleged that she was still dating the musician when he unexpectedly left only to emerge on the hit reality series. News of their relationship broke while the show was airing on ABC.

While the couple’s breakup left fans questioning if Hannah is engaged to someone else, the Bachelorette confirmed that she is currently single, and she hasn’t reconciled with any of the men she previously sent home.

It all comes down to this. All of the rumors will be put to rest tomorrow and Tuesday on #TheBacheloretteFinale.

The split wasn’t a shock to fans who watched the questionable progression of Hannah and Jed’s relationship. Around the same time that Jed’s ex-girlfriend spoke out, the 25-year old’s storyline on the show took a turn, as well. During a one-on-one date with Hannah, Jed told her that he originally came on the show to gain publicity for his music career. Despite his initial intentions, he reassured Hannah that he had developed real feelings for her, allowing him to forget why he first joined the cast.

But this wasn’t enough to sustain the relationship. Hannah revealed on After the Final Rose that while she ended their engagement once filming wrapped, they stayed together as a couple for a short time. Ultimately, they were unable to make the relationship work with the news that surrounded her ex-fiancé. Their breakup was captured by Bachelorette cameras (Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Becca Kufrin certainly can relate), and it ultimately aired on television during the live special on Tuesday night.

Given Hannah’s remaining top three men, it came as a shock to viewers that two long-standing fan favorites were sent home during the two-part season finale. Peter Weber left during the final three rose ceremony and Tyler Cameron became The Bachelorette’s runner-up after Hannah ended their relationship moments before accepting Jed’s proposal.

In an emotional moment during part one of the finale, Hannah revealed that she fell in love with both Jed and Tyler C. After both men met Hannah’s family, she expressed how distraught she was about her final choice: “Two people are in my heart at the same time, and I don’t want to make the wrong decision.”

Despite the ending, Hannah told Entertainment Tonight that she was “happy” with the outcome after filming wrapped. “It was truly the hardest thing. I didn’t want to let other people down, but I didn’t want to let myself down,” she said. “I’m excited for everyone to see the growth and what I learned and what my experience is.”

ABC has yet to announce the next Bachelor, though fans have speculated that season 15 standouts Tyler C., who is now “open” to having drinks with Hannah. Other contestants Peter and Mike Johnson are also potential candidates for the lead role.

When speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Harrison said: “It would be premature to make the call now, before [Bachelor in Paradise]. It wouldn’t be smart at all… there’s guys you haven’t seen yet.”

While Bachelor Nation fans grapple with the ending of Hannah B’s season of The Bachelorette, there’s good news on the horizon. The beloved spinoff series Bachelor in Paradise will replace The Bachelorette on ABC’s Monday night schedule, with former Bachelor and Bachelorette cast members heading to Mexico in hopes of finding love. The season will premiere on Monday, August 5 at 8/9c on ABC.
