Ryan Murphy's Netflix series Halston gives us an inside look into the glamorous (but complex) existence of the celebrated fashion designer, played by Ewan McGregor. “I didn’t know [writer-director] Dan Minahan and I didn’t know Halston,” McGregor told The Hollywood Reporter about joining the cast. “I was just really taken with the presentation. He showed me all these photographs of Halston and the people in his circle—Liza Minnelli, Elsa Peretti, Victor Hugo. And I could tell instantly from the photographs: I wanted to play him. Just something about the way he holds himself, something in his eyes.”
