Wondering what’s up with the nonstop concert videos on Instagram and TikTok recently? That would be Governors Ball, an NYC music festival that took place this past weekend.

Halsey was one of the headlining performers (as well as Kid Cudi, J. Cole, Jack Harlow, Louis The Child, Chelsea Cutler, and others), and we can’t get over the fact that they performed the most important song from “Stranger Things 4," Kate Bush's “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God). The collab we never knew we needed, TBH.

The powerhouse singer and new mom took to the Gov Ball stage to pay homage to the 1985 hit in a chilling cover and later Tweeted, “truly wish I wrote this song more than anything in the world I’m soooo happy it’s having this resurgence. I knew immediately I wanted to do this 🥺”. Kate Bush herself thanked fans for putting her song back onto global charts, saying, “Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song.”

Halsey also performed her brand new song “So Good” for the first time. They recently released a music video for “So Good” that was directed by their partner Alev Aydin, who had complete creative control over the video. “He is the only person I would ever let do that,” the singer explained on Twitter. A portion of the “So Good” video features Halsey watching flashbacks of video clips and photos projected onto a wall, a creative decision that was made possible by producing the video in collaboration with Samsung and their Freestyle device, a 180-degree portable projector.

“Using the Freestyle, Alev and I were able to share a glimpse of the way that we fell in love: watching romantic films together. But this time, the Freestyle is playing real home movies from our life together. For us, this makes ‘So Good’ come to life in a really special way that we’re so excited share with fans,” said Halsey in a press release.

Halsey’s fans had an incredible response to the new song on social media, partially because “So Good” will have you believing in love again, and also thanks to the artist recently opening up about the struggles of working with a record label that wouldn’t let them release the song until a fake viral TikTok moment was produced. She explained that most artists are being treated this way nowadays, saying, “I just wanna release music, man. And I deserve better, tbh. I'm tired.”

Fans took to the comment section of the “So Good” music video to show their love, saying “Halsey's music is like a blanket that hugs me when I feel like crying and tells me it'll get better” and “Let's be honest, Halsey is an artist that never disappoints us.” Watch the full video below.
