Halsey and G-Eazy Have Broken Up

It seems as though it's the end of the road for Halsey and G-Eazy.

In an Instagram story posted yesterday, July 3, Halsey shared that she and G-Eazy are "taking some time apart," noting that she usually keeps personal news private, but that she wanted to inform their fans of what was happening. She went on to say: "I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career and the duration of my tour."

Halsey ended her note by wishing G-Eazy the best, and adding a message for her fans and followers. "Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time."

Fans have been reacting to the news of the split on social media, with one person noting that the couple "made me think love could be real." Another remarked that they were "taking the news...a lot harder than I probably should be." And one person decided to wear all black for the next few days as a symbol of their mourning.

As noted by E! News, some people started speculating that there was trouble for Halsey and G-Eazy earlier in the week when the "Bad at Love" singer posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: "Kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye" — a play on new Drake lyrics. Fans also noticed that Halsey deleted most of her photos of G-Eazy from her Insta — a surefire bad sign in the age of social media.

Back in May, Halsey talked about their relationship on the red carpet at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, noting that she and G-Eazy had been dating for "about a year." She also added that the rapper initially won her heart by "being really persistent," adding: "He really wanted to hang out and really wanted me to like him a lot. It took me a while to be like, ‘Fine. Okay I like you back.'"
