Halloween decorations have black Labrador literally frozen in fear: ‘He looks like you paused him’
A black Lab that’s terrified of cats was paralyzed with fear by some cat Halloween decorations!
Typically, most cats tend to be afraid of dogs. However, the reverse is true for TikToker Lilly Flores’s (@lilyyyyyyyannnn) dog, Maverick, whose fear of cats was on full display in a hilarious video featuring the black Lab standing frozen in terror while surrounded by several Halloween yard decorations shaped like black cats.
The clip opens with the text, “When your dog is terrified of cats,” typed over a shot of Maverick in the middle of a collection of spooky black cat yard decorations.
Maverick leans forward in a lunge position and puts his weight on his right paw as if he’s having a face-off with one of the cats. Like an antenna, the dog’s tail remains extended and stiff.

While Maverick looks ready to pounce at a moment’s notice, he remains almost paranormally frozen, even when Lilly and her husband call him.
The camera pans around the dog, who has yet to move a muscle.
“His tail’s not even flinching,” Flores laughs as the camera moves closer toward the motley crew of animals — both real and fake.
“Hey! It’s OK, dude,” Flores’s husband assures Maverick from behind the camera, inciting the dog to wag his tail before scampering away from the patronizing cat cluster at the end of the video.
Just another Halloween decoration?
Viewers couldn’t help but joke about the dog’s comical misunderstanding. Many were impressed by his ability to stay completely still.
“Great job on the dog cutout,” one user joked.
“I’m not convinced that he’s not just another decoration,” shared one TikToker.
“He looks like you paused him,” one viewer mentioned.
“The simulation glitched,” hypothesized one user.
Out of all of Flores’s lawn decorations, there’s no doubt that Maverick is definitely the cutest.
