Hallmark Star Danica McKellar Shares What It Was Like to Meet Dolly Parton Filming Christmas at Dollywood

It's as if somebody plucked the idea straight out of our brains: Combine two of our favorite things—Dollywood and Christmas—and make a movie. Needless to say, we're so excited for Christmas at Dollywood to debut on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, December 8th at 8:00 p.m..

Though most of the movie was filmed in Vancouver, last week the crew and cast headed to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to shoot some very special scenes. One of the coolest of the bunch? Dolly Parton herself performing with a band from a gorgeous stage decked out for the holidays.

As the Knoxville News Sentinel shared, even the film's stars were, well, starstruck when they got to meet the Smoky Mountain Songbird. Danica McKellar, who plays one of the leading roles in the film, told the outlet, "Here's the thing. As great as I thought this was going to be, it's even better, and that's really because of Dolly. She is the most magical human being I have ever met. And she has exceeded my expectations, and my expectations were high." She added that Parton was "lovely," "gracious," generous," and "gorgeous," gushing that "...she makes you feel like a rock star ... even if she's the rock star. She just has this gift, and I'm trying to learn what that is 'cause I want to give that to people too."
