Hallmark is well-known for creating popular film franchises, and the Hannah Swensen Mystery series (formerly known as Murder, She Baked) is one of the best.

Starring Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison, the movies follow Hannah Swensen, a baking extraordinaire who owns a bakeshop, the Cookie Jar, in her sleepy Minnesota town. But after she discovers her friend dead in the back alley of her store, Hannah descends on a journey to find the answers about what happens. Oh, and it doesn't hurt if she finds herself entangled with a little romance here and there as well.

After almost 10 years and seven movies, the latest title, Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, aired t much success in May 2023. With so many loving the latest installment, some hoped there would be another film in the franchise debuting later on in the year. Well, Alison seemingly gave a huge clue about the future of the Murder, She Baked series, and viewers will be excited about the news.

Will there be a new Hannah Swensen Mystery movie in 2023?

It looks like it! Thanks to Alison revealing a surprise hint on Instagram, fans know they can expect a new Hannah Swensen Mystery movie in the near future.

The Days of Our Lives star surprised fans in June when she uploaded an unexpected photo on Instagram. Posing alongside Cameron in a behind-the-scenes image, Alison revealed that the duo were busy working on an eighth title in the hit franchise.

"Here we go again!!" she wrote on June 12. "Back on set filming another #HannahSwensen with my friend @cameronmathison!! #setlife 🎥."

Although she didn't drop a date, Alison's IMBD indicates the movie, called A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, will air sometime in late 2023.

Unsurprisingly, fans of the series were elated to learn another story with Hannah Swensen was coming down the pipeline. "Yay!! Best mystery series on Hallmark!:)," one person wrote in the comments. "Yes!!! So happy!! ♥️♥️," another added. "So excited to see this series extended! Hopefully, we will have many, many more! 👏👏👏," a different follower pleaded.

As for what viewers may expect from the next movie, Alison didn't give too many details. But when she spoke with TVInsider in May, she did tease that folks may want to pay attention to elements that may be more obscure to help solve the mystery.

"[Hannah's] superpower is her gut instinct, and her way of communicating with people that gets them to confide in her and tell her things and how she notices things that are misplaced or out of the ordinary or not how it was last time," she said. "She just has a way about her really picking up on the little details, the nuances. And I think this next mystery is going to have some fun elements like that that are there for the audience to notice, too, if you pay attention."

Well, there you have it!
