Hallmark Filmed Their Newest Movie at Elvis’s Historic Memphis Mansion

From Country Living

Hallmark’s latest Countdown to Christmas movie, Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays, fulfills our hearts' desires of a star-studded romance set against a magical Christmas backdrop.

You may have already guessed from the title that Home for the Holidays takes place at Elvis's sprawling Memphis mansion, Graceland.

Home for the Holidays is the third in a series that takes place at the King's storied home. The first two starred Kellie Pickler, but this latest installment has a brand-new cast including Adrian Grenier.

With the fresh characters, and storyline, it seems that the only similarity between the new movie and its predecessors is, well, Graceland.

It’s not hard to figure out why Graceland is such an enchanting place to capture the Christmas spirit. Every year, the mansion holds a Christmas lighting ceremony and elaborately decorates the entire mansion for the holidays. The King’s home even showcases a life-size Nativity scene and a driveway covered in hundreds of blue lights in honor of Elvis’s famous hit Christmas song.

Although Graceland is the perfect set for a Christmas movie, Home for the Holidays was actually filmed during the summer. In order to re-create some of Graceland’s Christmas spirit, the crew worked some holiday magic of their own.

Battling a July 90-degree heat wave, Home for the Holidays not only turned Graceland into a winter snowscape, but it also transformed other spots around the city, including Beale Street Landing and the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, according to Commercial Appeal.
