With the success of cowboy ranch dramas taking over television (hello, Yellowstone!), it didn't come as a surprise when Hallmark debuted their answer to the genre back in March. The network dropped a series called Ride, which follows a family as they carry on their rodeo legacy while simultaneously trying to save their Colorado ranch. The show offered a number of famous TV names in its cast (like Last Man Standing star Nancy Travis,
Good Trouble
actor Beau Mirchoff and Riverdale actress Tiera Skovbye).

After the series wrapped its season 1 finale in late May, fans were wondering if Ride would be back to deliver more exciting storylines in a potential season 2. Well, Hallmark did eventually give an update about the future of the show, and viewers may want to brace themselves for what was just announced.

Is Ride coming back for season 2?

We hate to break fans' hearts, but Ride will not be returning for season 2.

In mid-November, Hallmark announced the network canceled the drama after just one season of 10 episodes. The news was confirmed by multiple outlets just six months after the May 28 finale.

While the cast hasn't spoken out about their feelings on the cancellation, actor Beau Mirchoff did say ahead of the announcement he felt there was a chance for Ride to get a season renewal. "Fans seem to love it, the ratings are pretty good," he told TVLine back in May. "More people are discovering it, that’s really cool. Sometimes, shows need a little time. It’s a really great show. I think they’d be silly not to give it a second season."

Despite the sad news, people who tuned in week after week can still watch the series on Peacock, where they can subscribe to plans that start at $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year. After signing up, they just need to click on the title page on Peacock's website or the Peacock app.
