Hallmark's 'Welcome to Christmas' Movie Was Filmed in a Real-Life Winter Wonderland
Grab your winter gear because Hallmark's latest 'Countdown to Christmas' feature is going to inspire you to take a trip up north.
In the network's Welcome to Christmas, which is based on The Trouble With Christmas by Debbie Mason, a real estate developer heads to the fictional small town of Christmas, Colorado, to find the perfect spot for a new ski resort. And while there's no real-life Christmas village to be found in that state, fans can see all of the same snowy scenery by visiting the movie's filming location of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada.
Just like most of the channel's picturesque films, this one features a quaint small town as its setting, which star Jennifer Finnigan argues is the best part of the movie.
"The town is its own character and I think that the town’s people bring it to life and it’s one of the reasons that she falls in love," Jennifer told The PR Principle. "It’s not just with the leading man, it’s this town and its charm."
Though Vancouver is a big Canadian city that boasts more than half a million residents, you can still get that quintessential small town feel by visiting some of the prettiest destinations nearby. Revelstoke, Sun Peaks, Whistler Blackcomb, and Mount Washington are just a few of the city's areas and attractions that will give you those same gorgeous wintry views in an intimate setting.
If you can't make the trek to Canada, there are plenty of charming Colorado destinations that celebrate the holiday season in a big way, too. Aspen, Breckenridge, Georgetown, and Telluride are just a few places with beautiful mountain vistas and special Yuletide festivities in December. Who knows?
