Halle Berry’s The Call has been dominating Netflix’s top ten list over the last few days. Despite the film being released almost nine years ago, it seems the crime thriller has managed to captivate audiences on the streaming service (and rightfully so).

The 2013 film follows a woman named Jordan (Berry), who worked as a 911 operator for many years. After receiving a devastating phone call, Jordan decides to retire and live a different life.

But, she receives a call from a teenage girl that has been kidnapped by a serial killer and is trapped in a car trunk. In a race against time, Jordan tries to save the teen while also trying to uncover the kidnapper’s identity.

Upon its release, The Call proved to be a commercial success. The film grossed $68 million worldwide, despite having a budget of $13 million. Despite the film’s suspenseful premise, Berry’s performance was praised by critics. The Oscar-winning actress received a nomination for Best Actress at the 2013 BET Awards and Choice Movie Actress in a Drama at the Teen Choice Awards the same year.

Berry herself shared her surprise on Instagram when she learned about the film’s resurgence in popularity. The 55-year-old actress shared a screenshot of the movie’s ranking on Netflix and wrote, “….So “The Call” is the No. 1 movie on @netflix right now, nearly 10 years after its release. Are y’all OK? [laughing emoji].”

The movie features a solid cast, including Morris Chestnut (Officer Paul Phillips), Abigail Breslin (Casey Welson), Michael Imperioli (Alan Denado), Justina Machado (Rachel) and Michael Eklund (Michael Foster).
