Halle Berry's short, choppy bob at Sunday night's Academy Awards inspired thousands of memes and reactions on Twitter. Many were convinced it was real—especially considering Berry shared an Instagram story showing chunks of hair on the floor. But rest assured, the dramatic haircut was just a temporary change.

The Oscar-winning actress just shared a sunlit selfie with her long, glossy hair still intact. "Oscar bob...just kidding 😂" she captioned the photo. The haircut on the red carpet turned out to be one very convincing wig. After all, the best hair transformations are the ones that don't require any commitment.

Berry shook off the negative comments about her Oscars look, and even participated in poking a little fun at herself. She shared the below video on Twitter, and even thanked her fans for the funny memes:

Berry paired her polarizing hairstyle with a magenta Dolce & Gabbana dress at the award ceremony on Sunday night. Her makeup was kept fresh and glowy thanks to makeup artist Jorge Monroy, who used Clinique products like the Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25, Cheek Pop blush, and Chubby Stick Lip Balm.

But one beauty moment you might have missed that night was Berry's manicure. Celebrity nail artist Nettie Davis created a gorgeous pink-and-white marble nail art look on the actress's long, almond-shaped nails. The simple design was the perfect canvas to complement Berry's six (!) diamond rings by Ridano. Nail art is officially back.

Berry is no stranger to hair transformations, having worn everything from an iconic pixie cut to long curls in her career. But at least for now, she's sticking to her new signature look: soft, beachy waves with caramel and golden highlights.
