Sunday night’s SAG awards may have been a little dull in the hair department, but thankfully Guido Palau, hair extraordinaire and Redken’s global styling director is bringing it at Dior’s Couture Show in Paris. For today’s presentation at the Musée Rodin, Palau created tight, slicked back buns, using the loops to anchor metal ring and faux ponytails. The stylist refers to the look as New Wave Fetish hair on his Instagram account.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Palau and Dior designer Raf Simons worked together on the lacquered metal hair jewelry. Another ponytail, crafted with extensions, hangs down off the ring. “Though it’s classic, there is a ‘Diorness’ to it, a [futuristic take], a modernity because it has this very simplistic sort of feel,” Palau told WWD. He used Redken Fashion Work #12 Versatile Hairspray ($20) and Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray ($22) to polish off the look.
