Hailey Bieber is a blonde — but then again, Hailey Bieber is not a blonde. When we think of the Baldwin-bred supermodel, it's nearly impossible to picture her with anything other than the sandy, light, golden head of hair that she's nearly always seen wearing. Aside from it being her usual shade — with the occasional pink exception — it just fits her so naturally. But it seems even Bieber herself forgot that blonde isn't actually her natural hair color.
On Tuesday, July 29, Bieber posted a series of makeup-free selfies on her Instagram Stories and grid in which the top of her head is all but cropped out, showing her sun-kissed, shoulder-length strands. But in another photo, we get a close-up of the top of the model's head, and we can see inches of contrasting roots coming in strong.
"Finally gonna know what my true natural hair color is," she wrote over the photo, in which she's holding up the top strands of her hair with her fingers. But it's no mystery: Bieber's natural hair color definitely appears to be a medium-to-dark brown.
Like so many celebrities and everyday folks, Bieber has held off on touching up her roots during the COVID-19 pandemic. While some went wild with at-home color treatments, she decided to let her hair grow in as it may, leaving her with beachy blonde length and dark roots. And honestly? The contrast looks very cool. But Bieber would look just as gorgeous if she decided to embrace her natural hair color from root to tip, too.
Will she dye over the blonde to match the roots? Give in and go back to all-over blonde? Now that more and more salons are opening up, Bieber has plenty of options. Either way, there's no doubt her chosen shade will suit her perfectly.
