Hailey Bieber Donated Her Fyre Festival Promotion Money to Charity

She confirmed it on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

The Fyre Festival and its disastrous outcome are once again top of mind, after the release of Hulu and Netflix's hugely popular documentaries. Those affected by and involved in the festival and its promotion are speaking out about the realities of the ill-fated fest, including the Bahamian workers who went unpaid and the much-memed producer Andy King, and, now, supermodel Hailey Bieber.

On February 6, while playing “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” on The Late Late Show With James Corden, in which participants are asked to share uncomfortable truths or eat stomach-turning foods, Hailey Bieber was asked to reveal how much money she got from appearing on the Fyre Festival promo.

She did not reveal the exact sum — though it was previously reported to be at least $20,000 per social post — but she did take the opportunity to say she had donated her entire cut after seeing the festival's aftermath. “I’m not going to share [the amount], but it made for a very generous donation to charity,” Hailey told James, followed by the audience's applause.

“You gave the money away after you saw how great it was?” James teased Hailey, prompting her confirmation. Hailey was then spared drinking a glass of bird saliva — yum — by the host, who also commended her for her “noble” actions.

After the Fyre fiasco was first brought to light in April 2017, some models involved in the event's promotion, including Bella Hadid, publicly apologized. It was [reported late last month that the models' agencies and organizations potentially face subpoenas to help uncover how festival founder Billy McFarland, who is currently in prison for fraud, spent millions of dollars of investor money.
