Hailey Bieber’s Go-To Bag for Fall Is the Fanny Pack—With a Twist

But those propositions aside, there’s yet to be a standout bag trend embraced by celebrities for fall—until now! Yesterday, Hailey Bieber stepped out in Los Angeles with a very unexpected bag idea: meet the designer fanny pack.

Popular in the ’90s, the fanny pack is thought of as a pragmatic—if even slightly dad-ish—accessory. But over the past few seasons, designer labels have been reinventing the piece, adding luxurious finishes onto the hands-free style, such as supple leathers and graphic hardware. Bieber is clearly on board with the look: she hit the streets sporting Louis Vuitton’s New Wave Bumbag, which features quilted leather and the label’s signature gold LV clasp. She further elevated it with a little runway-worthy styling, wearing the piece cross-body instead of around the waist. Bieber’s outfit also put all the focus on her bag: she wore a discreet silky two-piece set by Nanushka and clean white low-top sneakers. Still, there were finishing flourishes that made the whole moment feel majorly fashun: her signature Jennifer Fisher hoops and snake-rimmed sunglasses, by Gentle Monster x Alexander Wang, being a prime example.
