The Hadid Sisters Wear Matching Party Dresses on Gigi’s Golden Birthday
Bella Hadid may be one year younger than Gigi, but more often than not not, the sisters dress like twins. Recently, the Hadids wore coordinated crop tops and denim at Coachella, and last night in New York, they celebrated Gigi’s 23rd birthday in two similar party dresses. Though Gigi wore Atelier Versace and Bella chose vintage Christian Dior, there was no denying that they worked well together and both options fit the evening’s “golden birthday” theme.
The Hadids were joined by friends and family, including Hailey Baldwin and Joan Smalls, plus their little brother Anwar and his girlfriend Nicola Peltz; the entire crew gathered at One Hotel in Brooklyn to dance the night away. As the night’s golden girl, Gigi appropriately chose a strapless bodycon dress embellished with gold thread and discs, as well as a pair of Medusa buckles at the hem. The Versace house symbol was an ideal match for the “CD” charms decorating Bella’s dress straps. Her bias-cut silhouette felt like classic John Galliano for Dior and called to mind the newspaper-print version famously worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, though Bella’s came in a bold leopard print etched with gold filigree florals. Both Hadids selected metallic stilettos—Christian Louboutins for Gigi and Jimmy Choos for Bella—to complete the ’90s moment.
