Habitat for Humanity dedicates new home in Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Bristol family was handed the keys to their new home on Monday thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

Holston Habitat for Humanity officials said they worked alongside the family for six months before breaking ground. They said homeownership is more than just having a roof over one’s head, it’s about stability and self-reliance.

New homeowner Caitlin Riddle says her new home means the world to her family.

“Currently me and my children all share one room, so having our own rooms is going to be a big deal for us and just have our own space to do things and live freely,” Riddle said.

Holston Habitat for Humanity says the new home will change the trajectory of the family’s financial future and will be something that can be passed on to the children.
