Lately, I’ve been crushing on Häagan-Dazs Honey Salted Caramel Ice Cream. It hits all the right sweet and salty notes for me, but I know there will come a time when I want to switch up my frozen treat of choice. My next choice will probably also be from Häagan-Dazs because the brand (which, despite the umlauts in its name, hails from Brooklyn, NY) knows how to make satisfying and delicious ice cream.

The frozen treat giant just announced it’s releasing its first original ice cream flavors since 2022, and they both sound like contenders for my next ice cream crush.

Häagen-Dazs Releases 2 New Ice Cream Flavors

These may be the brand's first new ice cream flavors in two years, but it's not its first new product in that time. Last year, it debuted six flavors of Cultured Crème, a "luxury" yogurt. Earlier this year, Häagan-Dazs expanded its line of ice cream bars by adding two new treats on a stick: Dulce De Leche and Chocolate Cookie Crumble, both coated in milk chocolate.

Now, the brand is releasing two new flavors in 14-ounce cartons.

  • New York Strawberry Cheesecake honors the company's founders, Rose and Reuben Mattus, who emigrated from Poland to New York City, home to the world's most delicious cheesecake. The ice cream is a velvety cheesecake flavor swirled with sweet strawberry sauce and soft, spiced graham cracker crust pieces.

  • Vanilla Caramel Pecan is already beloved by those who get it in Häagen-Dazs Shops under the name Pralines & Cream. The flavor has now been "reimagined for ever-more decadence." It has creamy vanilla ice cream paired with perfectly gooey caramel sauce and caramelized toasted pecans.

At the moment, I suspect the Vanilla Caramel Pecan flavor will be my next crush, but who knows? The New York Strawberry Cheesecake sounds fitting for spring, and with warmer weather coming, it may win out.

The two new flavors should start showing up on some store shelves now and should be widely available by April with a suggested retail price of $6.49. Sure, it's a bit steep, but many stores put Häagan-Dazs on sale at least once a month. Of course, that requires patience to get your hands on these tasty new flavors.
