Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the 27-year-old who inspired Hulu's hit show The Act, is a single lady again. After five months as an engaged couple, she and her fiancé, Ken, have broken things off, E! reported.

In April, Gypsy got engaged while in prison serving a 10-year sentence for the murder of her mom, Dee Dee. After the engagement, she was reportedly sporting a hand-me-down engagement ring from a fellow inmate. Originally, she and Ken planned on picking out new rings together.

"The two were planning to get married in January while Gypsy is still in prison, but they have now cancelled those plans," the source told the publication. "Both Gypsy and Ken are brokenhearted over the situation and still have nothing but love for each other. They each intend on taking some time apart to focus on themselves as individuals."

Here's everything you need to know about the TV show inspired by Gypsy's life:

According to In Touch, Gypsy met her then-fiancé through a prison pen pal program. "He started writing her and then visited her," a family friend told the publication. "They just grew to have a relationship… They’re taking it slow. They don’t know exactly what they’re going to do when she gets out. It’s a long way down the road, obviously, so things can change."

With the latest news, it looks like things did change.
