Gwyneth Paltrow recently posted a nude photo on Instagram in honor of her 50th birthday.
The actress posed in gold body paint in just her “birthday suit.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has long been an advocate for embracing aging and rejecting the idea that our bodies have to look a certain way. Now, as the Goop founder turns 50, she is celebrating her body in a bold way—nude and covered in gold paint.
For her milestone birthday, Paltrow shared pictures from a photoshoot on Instagram, standing in only gold paint—and it’s safe to say that she caused quite a stir. Fans flooded the comments section with heart-eye emojis and plenty of “WOWs.” Friend Reese Witherspoon wrote what we’re all thinking: “Oh YES to this !!” And perhaps Goop’s Instagram wrote it best: “✨50 has never looked so good ✨”.
Gwyneth Paltrow shared reflections about her upcoming 50th birthday in a recent blog post. In the article, she said that while she’s doing what she can to strive for good health and longevity, “I have a mantra I insert into those reckless thoughts that try to derail me: I accept. I accept the marks and the loosening skin, the wrinkles. I accept my body and let go of the need to be perfect, look perfect, defy gravity, defy logic, defy humanity. I accept my humanity.”
Paltrow further explained that with age comes a self-awareness she hadn’t quite expected, adding that she’s made many mistakes in the past: “I would like to fully acknowledge myself. I am imperfect.”
This isn’t the first time Paltrow has posed (and posted!) in her “birthday suit” to mark the special day. Two years ago, she posed naked surrounded by trees and shared the photo to Instagram—which led to her daughter, Apple, leaving a hilarious embarrassed “MOM,” in the comments.
Despite what Apple might feel on the matter, no one can argue that Paltrow looks amazing while embracing her years.
Although her goop brand has had some controversial moments, the actress has quite a few skincare tips that live up to the hype. Plenty of her favorite products can even be found at your local drugstore. Over the years, she’s shared her skincare must-haves, including her favorite moisturizing sunscreen, under-eye patches, facial cleanser, and a drugstore cream that she’s “‘used for years.”
If this is how she rings in 50, we can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
