Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Doesn’t Want To Work With Her Mom on This Project — & Yeah, That Checks Out

Again and again, we see celebrity kids who are not interested in their parents’ work. Because even if said parents are A-list celebs to the rest of the world, they are just mom and dad to those t(w)eens. Which, by definition, makes them inherently uncool and embarrassing. Sorry guys!

Just this year, we heard about how Matt Damon’s daughter loves trolling him, going out of her way to only watch his movies that got bad reviews.

One time, the actor overheard her talking about his movie “The Wall,” and he made the major mistake of jumping in to correct her. “I was like, ‘Isabella that movie is called The Great Wall,’” he said. “And she said, ‘Dad, there’s nothing great about that movie.’”

Yikes! And while Isabella Damon is uninterested in watching her dad on the screen, Gwyneth Paltrow’s 19-year-old daughter Apple is uninterested in working with her mom. Which, again, is very on-trend for a teen of a celeb. Or, well, any teen.

Paltrow told Bustle that even though Apple and her sorority sisters are into her skincare company Goop — “[that] is so exciting to me” — Apple will not accept an offer to model for the brand.

“She doesn’t want anything to do with it,” Paltrow said. “She’s a very private person, actually.”

We have to imagine it’s more than just a privacy thing, though, since Paltrow told People in 2021 that she doesn’t think Apple has ever seen one of her movies.

“She thinks it’s weird if I’m on screen.”

The Iron Man star also opened up to Bustle about what the college process has been like with Apple and her 17-year-old son Moses. Her firstborn was very set on going to Vanderbilt University — “she did everything in her power to make it happen and manifested it” — while Moses has been more relaxed about the situation.

“[He says] ‘I don’t know, I like this and I like that, and let’s go back and see this, let’s go back and see that one,’” she said. “…He’s kind of like, ‘I’ll be happy wherever; it’s fine,’ which is a great feeling.”

And now we have to know, would he feel the same way about modeling for Goop?

These celeb parents have gotten very real about their kids growing up.
