Being a parent is probably one of the hardest jobs in the world. And then parenting with a former spouse you’ve divorced? Yeah...probably even harder. But for Gavin Rossdale—aka Gwen Stefani’s ex-husband—it appears to be going okay so far.

During an appearance on Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation, Gavin explained that figuring out a schedule for his and Gwen's three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—has been a bit “tricky,” but he did get to spend some time with his sons before they isolated with their mother. “I did the first two weeks with them, then they went to Oklahoma,” he said, adding that the kids are staying at a 10,000-acre ranch with Gwen and her boyfriend, Blake Shelton. “I think it’s okay for now, but it’s a real big dilemma for parents and kids with split custody.”

Gavin also explained that he’s trying to be mindful of who he spends time with during the current coronavirus pandemic to make sure he and his kids stay healthy. “I know who’s around me and know who’s bringing the corona—no one—but you send your kids out and now they’re coming back to you, and now you’re prone to whoever they’re with,” he continued. “So, it’s a tricky one with all divorced parents.”

“I miss them, and they should be back. I have them the first week and then I haven’t had them for 10 or 11 days, and that’s a long time. Normally, I have them every five days or something,” Gavin added.

Although it’s a bit of a complicated time for Gavin to co-parent, things have still been pretty good. “You know, we both manage to feed them and get them to school on time, more or less!” he told Us Weekly in May 2019. “They are doing really good. They’re really happy, and that’s it.” Love to hear it!
