For their performance on the show, the two transformed into more glamorous looks. Stefani wore a flowy pink printed dress, while Shelton changed into a sharp black shirt and jacket combo.

Stefani and Shelton crooned out their new tune, which dropped on Friday, Feb. 9. The love song features sweet lyrics like, "Wonder why you took a risk/ On a broken heart you cannot fix/ No, I never knew a love like this/ Now we're picking purple irises."

Fans were in love with the charismatic performance, and many commented on the couple's chemistry together on stage.

"Love the look of love in Blake’s eyes as he’s singing chorus with Gwen ❤❤❤," wrote one fan, while a second said, "I love how they are performing but also singing to each other. It’s just so genuine! Great song!"

"I love it when they both collaborate. And I hope they're each others forever. We all deserve love... ❤," replied another person.

During a recent interview with iHeartCountry, Stefani, who wrote the song, described it as "a snapshot of a feeling of a moment" and confirmed that it was a love song.

She also shared the story behind the title, revealing that it was inspired by purple iris flowers the couple found in Oklahoma that they transplanted into their own garden, only for them to blossom at their home.

Stefani and Shelton, who have been married since 2021, first performed the new song "Purple Irises" at a Super Bowl show on Feb. 11.
