GV Tiong Bahru introduces new look

27 May – Having been closed for the past few months due to renovations, Golden Village Tiong Bahru has recently opened again to the public.

Located at Tiong Bahru Plaza, the refurbished cinema now houses five halls with a total of 800 seats, 789 of which are the green Grandeur cinema seats and 11 handicapped seats.

The cinema halls are equipped with Induction Loop, a technology that allows hearing-impaired individuals to fully appreciate the audio of a movie.

Now the cinema also has Automated Ticketing Machines, making it easier for cinemagoers to purchase their tickets and food using credit cards, pre-paid cards or cash. Those who booked their tickets online can simply enter using Quick Tix, the QR codes sent to their phones which can then be scanned at the two-lane auto gates.

GV currently runs promotions for its Tiong Bahru patrons, whereby they will be given an SGD2 discount with a minimum purchase of four tickets online or using the iGV app. They can also win prizes when they book using the Automated Ticketing.

GV Tiong Bahru is the last of six GV cinemas to go through major renovations, following GV Yishun in 2010, GV Jurong Point in April 2012, GV Plaza in December 2012, GV Grand, Great World City in 2013, GV Bishan in 2014 and GV Tampines last year.
