You Guys, Alex Borstein Wore Her 1999 Wedding Dress at the 2018 Emmy Awards

At last night’s 70th annual Emmy Awards, Alex Borstein took home the statuette for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Susie Myerson in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. But you might be surprised to learn that her dress was recycled from another memorable occasion: her wedding.

In an interview with Glamour on the red carpet, Borstein discussed her plunging silver gown and revealed that it just so happens to be the wedding dress she wore to marry her now ex-husband, Jackson Douglas (Gilmore Girls). (Not kidding.)

“This is actually my wedding dress,” she said. “This was from 20 years ago. The marriage didn’t last, but the dress did, and I wanted to give it new life, so now it’s my Emmys dress. That’s the truth.”

Borstein and Douglas tied the knot in 1999 and filed for divorce in 2014.

Hey, if the dress fits, there’s no rule against it.
