Guy Fieri has made it quite clear: there would be no Flavortown without the First Lady of Flavortown. The Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives star—who has long touted his family as the "first priority"—has been married for 28 years. But who exactly is his wife, Lori Fieri?
When did Guy Fieri and Lori Fieri meet?
Guy and Lori met all the way back in 1992 at, where else, a restaurant the now-celeb chef was managing at the time in Long Beach, California. However, it wasn't exactly love at first sight—at least for Lori.
"Her friend had been let go from the restaurant, and they weren't supposed to be there," Guy told Delish back in 2017. "I was talking to her friend and saying 'Hey, listen, wait a few weeks before you come in,' and standing behind her is this blue-eyed, blonde girl giving me this mean mug."
Lori refused to leave—"you can't make us," she told Guy—and he quickly caved. I'd venture a guess that it had something to do with the blue eyes and the blonde hair.
"I knew as soon as I saw her," Fieri said of their first encounter. "I just knew."
When did Guy Fieri marry Lori Fieri?
Though Guy Fieri joked on The Today Show that he's been married for 47,000 years, the pair *actually* tied the knot back in 1995.
"My wife and I have gone from being married at a young age to being where we are now—to get here, you have to be willing to adapt and understand," Fieri said. "It's all compromise and understanding."
When did Guy and Lori Fieri welcome their kids?
In 1996, the pair welcomed their first child, Hunter, who has since followed in his father's footsteps and is basically the Deputy Mayor of Flavortown. Their son Ryder was born in 2005, PEOPLE reports. In 2011, following the death of his sister, Guy took in his nephew Jules.
"I really loved her so much," he said of his sister following her death. "The last thing I said to my sister [was], 'Morgan, I got Jules. I will take care of him like I take care of my kids. He is my son; I've got this'."
Has Lori appeared on any of Guy Fieri's shows?
In 2017, the Fieri family—including Lori, Hunter, Ryder, and Jules—filmed Guy's Family Road Trip for the Food Network.
In 2021, Guy! Hawaiian Style premiered. The Discovery+ series, which also featured the entire Fieri brood, followed Guy, Lori, and the kids as they explored Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
"Most of my friends will [say] I haven't changed," Guy said in 2022. "I think it's because when I got into television, I'd already done what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a great dad." *Cue the tears*
